Music and Theater at VIPHS

As a high school dedicated to contemporary music—encompassing live performance, recording, creation, and songwriting—our students engage in dynamic classes like Music Lab, where they devise and perform live music in SRO (Standing Room Only) settings multiple times a year. They also receive specialized instruction in jazz and guitar. CLUB VIP, a celebrated live show that has been a staple since our school's founding in 2014, consistently attracts students from the Valley and throughout Los Angeles. VIPHS also has an enormously lively and popular theater program, replete with multiple live productions throughout the school year, including a spring musical. Led by acclaimed theater professional Gilles Chiasson, our highly collaborative program creates opportunities to develop communication and interpretive skills as actors, directors, writers, and technicians while assuming responsibility and commitment to the community at large. The VIP Theatre Department's season for 2024-2025 looks fantastic! "The Skin of Our Teeth" is a classic with its inventive storytelling, and "Grease" is always a crowd-pleaser with its high energy and iconic music. The End of Year Showcases are a wonderful way to highlight the talents and hard work of everyone involved.
